How does it stop you getting hurt? Act like a shield of armour, or something?

This bloke should be concentrating on where he's going rather than congratulating himself on his fancy specs...
"I can't believe that car hit me officer, I had my Nikes on and everything"
(disclaimer if this has already been observed elsewhere, I haven't read that thread)

He wouldn't need to worry, as that car is running a red, so the officer would shoot the driver, (it being the United States of USA and all).

this looks pointless, as you cant judge distance, only confirm that there are cars on the road.

Pretty cool. Use the same lenses that have been recently put on HGV's.
"The Nike Hindsight cyclist's glasses from designer Billy May (we loved his Torn lights before) are designed to do one simple thing: stop cyclists from getting hurt on the roads. At the extended side of each lens is a carefully arranged high-power Fresnel lens that captures the view to the sides of the wearer's head, and sends it into the peripheral vision."
