Diary sounds like a great idea.
I grew up in Leicestershire... just noticed where the eBay seller is.
Paint it orange! When I was building up my first bike, I used to walk to college past this frame. One day I'm going to get myself something similar. It looked great.

Good luck with it.
If you want to keep its name after painting, Geoffrey Butler (roadies shop in Croydon) have a box of their old decals transfers/stickers. They don't have that exact font style for the words, but the headtube stickers are the same as that.

been chatting to a mate about the front brake i'm going to need one but i don't fancy the unslightly cables going everywhere. What i'm wondering is there a way of getting the brake cable through the frame without killing the frame and having working front brake?

No. Well at best you could get it through your bars and popping out of your stem straight down to your brake, in reality you should just learn to love the cable, get some fancy coloured BMX outer and make it a feature of the build.

Got my frame through today. Going to need some work doing to it, sanding down, rust treatment and some angle grinding to take of some brake cable holders, the water bottle cage holes and some weird thing on the fork.
I'll post pictures when i can find my camera.

Going to be buying a sandblaster this week for 20 quid, and getting the frame down to bare metal. Then treat the rust and off it goes to the painters, still unsure of the colour. Was thinking sky blue, or black. with the lug work either chromed or highlighted in some way. any ideas?

I'm having a great night. Nothing like sobering up whilst eating noodles and flaming noob idiotfucktardscumcocks.
Hey
I thought i would write a small working diary of my new bike build. I've just won a frame on the bay and am planning on sanding it down, treating the frame work and getting it painted. Question is what colour? I'm liking the colour it is at the mo minus the rust. what do you reckon?
I'll be posting progress of the build as i go along, if thats allowed and people want me to. I just thought i would be kinda nice for people to see progression of a build, as i've not really seen progression of builds on here.
Anyway, heres what I won.
