This one might be a bit contentious (is a solo a "song"?). But.. Any opportunity to post free bird will be taken.

i don't get it... do you want songs that sound good together, but shouldn't when you look at the tracklist? or just random pairs of songs?

Scratch Yer Head (Squarepusher mix) - DJ Food
That track fucking blew me away the first time I heard it back in '97/'98

Manic Depression - Hendrix
Heartbreaker/Living Loving Maid - Led Zeppelin
We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions - Queen
The Hendrix song is certainly bipolar by design.
The Zep and Queen tunes are often played together (at least in the US) and would be considered one song by many.

I heard the main tune on a mix tape around the same time, but didn't know there was that long drum part at the start, so whenever I thought I'd tracked it down, I gave up after about a minute and a half of drums. Can't believe how close I was...

Loath to say it, but Stairway to Heaven by Led Zep.
Newborn by Muse
Sunburn by Muse
Sing for Absolution by Muse
erm, other songs by Muse. They seem to have it down pat.Band on the Run by Wings
Golden slumbers and all the rest of the Beatle's Abbey Road album
I'm looking to compile a playlist of songs that feel like two songs bolted together - ie have two totally different feels/melodies/rhythms. Please post your offerings in list form, in the time-honoured cut'n'paste method. The two examples that come to mind are:
1 Bohemian Rhapsody
2 Layla
