Depends on where you live. Broadway Mkt has a load of cafes/coffee houses and the cycle route from Highbury down through Islington is nice and quiet.

No idea where you live, but two of the best vistas in the London area are - looking back over the Thames from the top of Richmond Hill and, 500m inside Richmond Park from there, the views
to St Pauls on one side and Windsor Castle on the other from the top of King Henry's Mound. -

you could always head down to blackheath and greenwich park, you get some great city views from there as well.

I'm in Highbury,
But any destination is good as I'll happily ride 45min have a coffee then ride up to work.I've been using the hills in the north Ally Pally, Highgate n Hampstead for nice views.
and for freshly baked goodies (which are not helping the waist line) n very good coffee,
http://www.lepechemignon.co.uk/I might start riding to the little tea hut on Black Heath.

I always come out of Peche Mignon with a smile on my face. Such a happy band of Frenchmen.
The Pavilion Cafe in Victoria park is great. Good cakes, Square Mile coffee and a nice place to be when the sun is coming up.

0.9km is not a commute, it's merely a 'short hop'.
EU regulations state that for a journey to qualify as a 'commute' it must be a minimum distance of 2.97643km

I got second dibs on that key. I'd be more than happy to do it, maybe once. Also, if all the stuff in your home is gone, the only thing you can accuse me of is forgetting to lock the door. I'd want that in writing please.

Surely go up through Alexandra and down throgh Islington? That will add some length.
My commute has shrunk to about 900m and my waist has swollen by about 900mm.
I'm after recommendations of cafes and coffee shops or parks or vistas around London; things that are worth heading too for a ride before I need to be at work for 9am.
What have you got in the way of suggestions?
Cheers.
