3 men in a boat

  • Being a big fan of Jerome K. Jerome's book "Three men in a boat" I was considering repeating the feat this coming summer. I know a few people sail (or know something about boats) any advice?

  • "never get out of the boat"

  • theres a good book that may help, guide to the waterways 7 river thames and southern waterways with good maps of the whole stretch, its published by nicholson

  • Bring a dog.

    I also love that book.

  • Use a kayak. It's the water ways answer to fixed wheels.

  • Whaddayawannaknow, kid?
    Captain Quint face

  • "i will catch your fish for $10.000"

  • Bring a dog.

    I also love that book.

    Take a dog
(Unless you are a time-traveller and already there).

  • "hears to swiming with bo legged women"

  • Refuses to bite

  • Use a kayak. It's the water ways answer to fixed wheels.

Anyone got one I can borrow? Or rent.

  • Check the BCU website or ask on here http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/forum/

Very helpful bunch but don't call them cunts. There should be lots of places offering canoe/kayak hire on the Thames but would recommend a few weekend learner sessions before you commit to anything.

    Paddling is fantastic.

Laughs bitterly then shakes head in despair.

My daughter kayaks at the Surrey docks water sports center and at the end of the summer they were selling off old stock real cheap. She's doing a sailing qualification there next week so they'll be open if you want to check if they have anything left.

  • I watched Griff Rhys Jones, Rory McGrath and one other other nameless comedian do this route for a BBC documentary a couple of years back. It was very interesting. They even took the dog.

Not much help I know. Sorry.

  • take a flag and hip flask

  • Gumtree Essex - fibreglass kayak with bladders on there @ £45.

  • This plan and aerial photo of Hampton Court Maze should assist.
