Lockring unlocking?

the lockring on my fixed cog is slipping and has come loose
i noticed before as i locked my legs coming up to a junction
is this common? im quite worried

Did you install it yourself? I didn't know how to install a lockring a month ago and this happened to me, it slips, I tighten, it slips, I tighten, it threads.

no i took it to a bike shop as when i did install it myself it unlocked
i didnt expect it to happen again
i think its to do with greasing my chain
ill get a lockring tool and sort it out the weekend

Once you've rota fixed the sprocket on, then tighten up the lockring. Guarantee you won't get slipping then.

BTW, use an old chain if you've got one for rotafixing, and make sure to protect your frame with several layers of cardboard or old rags. There's a fair bit of tension in the chain and it'll wreck your paint job if you don't protect it.
