There are a whole bunch of thread on this, look around, or use the search function. Going rate is about £10 per wheel.

2 days, not bad. It is nice to be able to do it yourself, good skill to have, and you will get quicker. Last night started a pair just after top gear on dave started; Laced, tensioned and trued before the credits rolled. I was chuffed.
Screw it, I will add a recommend as well. Dogsballs has built about every kind of lacing you could imagine, and quite a few you couldn't so if you want something a bit funky (or not) drop him a line.

Well two days included lacing one side 2 cross originally (on the 3 cross rear) and redoing once I'd figured out what had gone wrong and re-truing the wheels to an inch of my life after they bedded in on a day long ride. I reckon I could now lace and true a radial wheel within 15 minutes easy, I also reckon I tend to exaggerate things.
Can't wait to lace up some more now, keep watching hubs/wheels on t'bay in anticipation.

told you a million times not to exaggerate!

Yeah, I did my first one at the weekend as well and now i'm itching to needlessly replace my front wheel.
It took me about 3 hours although I think the tension might be a bit loose so I'll probably tighten it up a bit this weekend.

I was replacing my hub with a track hub, compared the flanges of both, almost exactly the same.
Took apart the wheel, rebuilt it and started to tension....I started slowly(jic) realised after many hours of building that my new hub was thinner than the previous and had way too much slack on the old spokes. Luckily I thought I had been hit by a car and the woman that hit me replaced the wheel, me being me I went down to the bike shop and got back the buckled wheel and took it apart(nice hub). I then used those slightly smaller spokes, same again just about to finish and realised that they werent tensioning right, every forth spoke was loose, checked the pattern and realised that the hub was asque in the rim..... Strange and annoying:D -

And they are still true...

I'm happy to give you some tips for free but would charge my usual prices if you want me to do it for you. If you want to have a go yourself then here is my method of doing 3-cross.

Feel free to email any questions such as spoke lengths etc.

BUMP!
So many wheel building threads, chose one at random to bump.A friend has an old raleigh ladies bike with what I think are 26 inch wheels. Front hub is busted so I am wondering if someone would like to rebuild wheel by attaching zenith hubs to same rims as before? Not sure what spokes are needed thb.

Yup. West/central. Pm me if that's good for you.

chek him
I need a pro with the skills to get me rimmed up...
Would be a real wheel, on a 32h Formula Hub.
Rim would either be a Mavic Open Pro or a Velocity Fusion...still considering that one.
All items would be provided except spokes...
Anyone care to step forward or recommend someone?
Going rate of couple pints and a mixed doner?
