  • I've seen a number of ads on the side of buses for different (mainly Christian) church's over the past few months.

I'm glad this campaign has received some press, and is addressing the balance. However, i'm of the opinion that neither group should be allowed to advertise their beliefs.

    You've done it now...

  • Replace advertise with communicate in the above sentiment. Hmm where does that get us?
    I'm saying nothing?

  • Trust a My Family writer to claim credit for it:

Fucking right. Religion is the cause of all war and pain in the world. Err, no not really.

If you can be arsed, John Gray has some good stuff on the newish creed of fundamentalist atheism.

Fucking wrong! Grammar is the cause of all pain in the world.

  • @fruitbat. I'll stick with 'advertise'

Marketing Dictionary definition of advertising... ''Paid form of a non-personal message communicated through the various media by industry, business firms, nonprofit organizations, or individuals. Advertising is persuasive and informational and is designed to influence the purchasing behavior and/or thought patterns of the audience''

  • Have you looked at the donations on the 2nd link, the number of people who have given £10,£20 or even £100!
    Nutters, all of them.

  • Why does it say 'there's probably no God...'? I thought they were atheists.
Surely it would be better to say 'there is no God...'? Probably makes it sound like they're sitting on the fence!

  • How about:**

''God is fake.... and a cunt''**

  • Surely this "probably" makes the Atheists, Agnostics?

    Nutters, all of them.

Many people donate vastly larger sums to religious organisations

    Fucking A!

  • There "probably" isn't a god?

Well Thats conviction for for you then, i'm sold.

These are the most pathetic excuses for atheists ever

  • But Stephen Green of pressure group Christian Voice said: "Bendy-buses, like atheism, are a danger to the public at large.

You have to admire the logic of his view.

  • Adam Rutherford 21/10/2008 £100.00 £28.21 In your face, God

  • I think it is good for people to think about this stuff.

'Probably' is a good word to use. It is an open suggestion, the reader can draw their own conclusion. Quite a contrast to the message of evangelism: Be 'saved' or suffer immeasurabely, forever, in a horrible hell that we can describe so vividly, you'll never get rid of the nightmares...

  • Oh - and forget the cost of the advertising campaign. These guys are getting far more coverage value from the media than the original ads ever cost.

  • I think it is ***probably ***good for people to think about this stuff.

    .

  • I cannot think of an occasion when my mind was changed for better or worse by a slogan pasted to the side of a bus. Well other than "25 Bow Church" or "19 Battersea"

She was on BBC news earlier, nice girl:

  • The existence of My Family is proof that there is no God.

  • Love the comments - 'In your face, God' being my fave.

I've always wondered if you advertised really dull things whether they'd get more popular. e.g. Carrots / Being nice / Chess

The existence of Two Pint of Lager and a Packet of Crisps proves that there is no intelligent life north of Watford
