40 holers ... Not much choice in rims. But they're lovely. Not sure but those logos looks 80s ish.
It's all about the low flange.

they're lovely.
Cheers!
Yeah, the logo is certainly a more recent version, the seller was trying to pass them off as 60's hubs.
For the record, they're 36 holers.

oops
Well you're laughing then. Where you going for axles?

Picked up a set of Campag track axles from the bay (again). The front axle turned up in a no-name hub (see couple of posts below this one!).
One reason for finding out what model is to make sure I get hold of the correct size ball bearings.

PS Autosol works an absolute treat! This was the crabby picture to seller used on eBay.

HTFU and stop complaining - for the seller to say 60s is a reasonable guess. The logo is consistent with what you see in catalogues going back to the early 50s, and the hub construction matches Nuovo Tipo/Gran Sport hubs of that period.
You should be able to use the same bearings, cones etc as current Pista hubs or you could cannibalise from earlier NR. Also the rear hub will probably build out to give you around 110mm spacing rather than 120mm.

Who's complaining? I think I've got myself a lovely set of hubs.

Running a 110mm hub at the moment, so shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for all the info.

No they didn't, but this pretty much confirms d_c's suspicions of the type of hub. Thanks for that!
Case closed. Apart from illy's 36, sorry, 32 hole rims....

For future reference, this rear hub needs a 36mm chainline for a straight running chain. So to run a 42mm chainline you need to add 3mm worth of axle/spacer length to the freewheel side and take off 3mm from the fixed side.
Not ideal, but shouldn't be a problem.

good link that, thanks. Sam - looks like you got some nice hubs at a good price.
Does anyone know if these were ever made??
I've won a pair on eBay from Japan for the princely sum of £29 (just shells, no axles). Received them yesterday. If they are moody Campag hubs they are still in great nick and very well made.
Both hubs have small grease ports on each side of the shell, and both are low flange.
Any ideas, chaps??
Thanks
Sam
