For Sale: Dura Ace high flange / Aerohead wheelset

  • I've got a nice wheelset for sale: Dura Ace High Flange 7600 hubs, single sided fixed, laced 28 hole front and rear to silver, non machined Aerohead clincher rims. Great light weight wheelset for summer riding or track use.

The good news: rims are brand new and never been ridden, the hubs are in great nick and very smooth, I've overhauled one hub completely and could do the other before you buy, DB spokes front and back.

The bad news: I've laced them but not brought them fully up to tension so there's a bit of work to do, I need to double check that the spoke lengths are correct on the back so there might be more work to do on that, there's a crack in the plastic bit on one side of the rear hub (you can see it in the photo), but you can't see it when the sprocket is on.

    Looking for £150 for these.

  • Can the rims be machined or is that complete blasphemy for these wheels?

    Why? Although more importantly, how?

EDIT: - In case that was unclear, I meant, if you like them, buy them and use them. If your worried about braking surface, don't be, they will work fine.

  • You can't machine the rims as such, but you can use brakes with them which will wear through the anodising pretty quickly and then be the same as a machined rim. Braking won't be quite as smooth at first but once you get through the anodising you'll be fine. I don't think it's blasphemy, although they do look quite nice at the moment!

Forgot to say I live in Brixton and anyone who's interested is welcome to come and have a look at the wheels.

  • Ah that was my main concern, whether brakes could be used on them or not. Right, now just to agonise over whether I can afford them or not.

  • Had a couple of people interested but not interested enought to want to buy these! Let's try again!

  • HI, I need a set with 135mm rear. Are they the correct size?

  • HI, I need a set with 135mm rear. Are they the correct size?

Nah, Dura-Ace will be 120mm or NJS 110mm.

  • And these ones are standard 120mm OLN, 10mm rear axle width.

  • Its not hard to swap for a longer axle.

  • Will you maybe ship these weels to denmark?

  • They look good. Can I get first dibs pending viewing them? PM'd you.
