Don't be too hard on them because you have to wait a little longer for some nice cycling shoes, sounds like they screwed up working out where the stock was, not the end of the world.
Incidentally not many people know this, but generally websites like Chainreaction and Wiggle are far cheaper than high street bike shops like Evans, Cycle Surgery etc . . . . but Cycle Surgery do price matching, they don't advertise the fact - but if you go in and find, for instance, a saddle for £60 and you have seen it for £45 on Chainreaction just tell them you want it at the Chainreaction price and they do just that, no questions. Nice touch.
Nowadays I look for something on Chainreaction and then go and buy it at Cyclesurgery.

I had the same thing happen to me! Cycle Surgery are shit. I ordered shoes, no shoes arrive. I rang them a week later, and they said they had got the shoes, but on opening the box, there was only ONE shoe inside. How we laughed, etc. They promised to dispatch a pair the next day (friday) to arrive saturday, special delivery. Come Tuesday, no shoes. Rang again, and they said they were lost in the post, and had no luck with the parcel tracking number. When I asked for that number, they got all shy. Eventually got an email saying they were re-sending my stuff. Needless to say, two boxes did not arrive. Then they got the fucking cleats wrong. They are wank.

I was wondering why they sold me that S-Works for £200 ?

Did it say "water damaged stock"?

Just thought I'd add my anecdotal evidence to Cycle Surgery's brilliance... I got my birthday present, ordered on Wednesday, delivered on Saturday ... have used them before and never had any problems.

I went into cycle purgatory in the holloway road, the man in there seemed quite friendly and knowledgeable, but when an old lady came in to ask about a rain-cape he got very abusive, used several four-letter-words and spat on the floor behind the counter.
Now, I'm a man of the world and not easily offended, but this was quite shocking behaviour and ruined my retail experience. -

I've always felt that a little racism and sexism add a certain something to the retail experience. I'm also fairly certain that Mohammed Al Fayed looked to Alf Garnett while modeling Harrods.

i went to buy some shoes from the holloway rd branch.
A swarthy looking gentleman with a glint in his eye went down on his knees and proceeded to gently stroke the sole of my foot while attempting to fit a pair of sidi's. he was humming one of erasures greatest hit's (the exact song title escapes me) at the time. should i be worried? i have been back several times since as i can't make my mind up if i want white or blue?
yours lovingly.

I bought a complete bike plus 25% of a bikes worth of components from Scurgery, then the bike got stolen- I blame them.

did they throw in some 'inappropriate touching' or 'genital caressing' for free?
if not i would go back and ask for a refund or complain to your M.P. -

not content with being just an internet troll, you will probably enjoy knowing that i set up the current stock system at cycle surgery about 7 years ago. had i known its mind crushing inaccuracies would cause problems further down the line i would have enjoyed my lack of diligence even more.
Just in case anyone is thinking of making an order from the Cycle Surgery website - don't bother.
I ordered some Spec shoes last week which were out of stock in the the London stores I went to, but in stock on the website. Got an email at the weekend to tell me they had to be retrieved from a store so would be late on delivery, then got an email today to tell me they are out of stock. Called them, the guy (who was very nice - not his fault etc etc) said they were meant to be coming from the spitalfields store - the first place i went into to look before ordering - where the guy in the shop told me to order them online as they were in stock.
anyway - you can still order a pair of out of stock shoes if you want to:
http://www.cyclesurgery.com/1026279/Specialized-Sport-MTB-Shoe-.html
they don't have size 42
i hate online shops who have crap fulfillment.
end of rant - sorry.
