Seatpost clamp or new seat post

I just picked up a cheap seat post, but it's of the cheap straight type. Any disadvantage to the seatpost clamp system over the more modern head type ones? I'm also looking for a saddle, recommendations for a sub £20 one?

The second part on the other hand, I can highly recommend a second hand Fizik Pave Ti in black and grey. I also know where you can get one for loads less than 20 quid :-)

Well let me further elucidate my first part in order to fuel your interests, and increase your chances of a sale:

Will this:

make on of these

attach as well to a standard saddle (say a Fizik Pave Ti) as on of these

and just because:

bollox, NSFW and the boss man just walked past

it will be fine, just not as adjustable, ie, less possible angles to set the saddle at.

NB: Why do people insist on posting risque pictures on the forum when they (should) know fine rightly that people will be looking at the threads in an environment where it is not appropriate for these pictures to be seen to be on the computer.

not a personal jibe at you specifically. not even an angry one really, just a bit frustrating when you're scrolling down and have to speed past a post cos there's some nuddity. A link with a NSFW warning would suffice.

I wouldn't recommend the 'bit of bent tin' stylee seat post clamp because if you've got a half-decent perch the clamp's going to damage the rails, and they're prone to slippage, more side to side then tilt. If you want a cheap saddle I've got 3 or 4 in a box somewhere, you can take one away for free - don't get much cheaper than that! Don't expect a Fizik or Ti tho'
