Bottle Holder screws and other nobbly bits

  • I have a Raleigh Pursuit frame I am converting. Do I remove the nobbly bits where the gears were once attached? And what about the screws where the bottle holder used to be? Just leave them? But what about the old 'foot through the frame' tricks?! I'd get me leg snagged!

  • What are you converting it to - a climbing frame?

  • Are you getting it resprayed? it is totally up to you whether you remove the knobbly bits or not. Leave the bottle cage bits though - you can hardly notice them!
I would suggest any top-tube cable guides are the first thing to get rid of.

  • That's the thing. I would have to respray if I removed them. The cable guides would go first. I'm worried that I couldn't remove the screws for the bottle holder as the rain would get inside the frame and rust the inside/BB, so they would need to be sealed if I was to remove them.

  • chingggggg second from left top row and some good old screw glue if you like.
