I'm in, don't have a helmet so a loaner until I can find one fashionable and comfortable enough would be grand...
-
• #3
Aye, I'm in too, in an attempt to keep off the beer belly.

Nice one Rob. Great idea. I'm in, although my attendance may be a bit sketchy.
-
• #5
Yep.

• #6
don't worry about attendences, I'm always going to be there (barring injury/illness) it would be nice to have 5-10 every week rather than 20 one week and 1 the next!
I'm sure it may get very boring for some people, but I also want to plan a few fixed rides out to kent for some hills (like we did on sunday) to break up the monotony

I'm in.

fixieist!
you might want to mention that although you'd like to simulate track riding, brakes are recommended as there will be some fast sections and peds/cars/deers to deal with.

Will be there. Liking the idea of some structured stuff given that I have only just started training again after a long spell off the bike. Will be at the back though trying to hang on......

Don't forget the 20mph speed limit in the park chaps/chapettes.. wouldn't want to have to outrun the cops now would we?
Training Technique #43: Using police as motivation
Might see you there.. one day.. maybe.. ish

• #16
great that nothing like this got organised last year, when i lived right next to the fucking park, eh...
-
• #17

I don't care about that, we won't be the fastest lot out there, but we will have the fastest legs!

i know, that much is clear.
mind you, him and me did some 'training' there last winter - spinning down one of the hills, neck and neck like a roller race. good laugh.
i might get up early and make one of these saturday sessions - i miss the park.

If you're riding medium gears, you're going to be touching 30mph at times, and the fastest legs could get closer to 40mph.
The speed trap business seems to be happening more and more often.
Sessions with a compulsory gear in the 60" region could help (46x20, 42x18, etc)...
