this is the 2nd frame which i can't decide whether or not it's too big.
so i may or may not purchase it -

Hmm, not drilled for a front brake, but this is very convincing. I'm squirelling away the cash for a Bob Jackson at the moment, but this is nice.

• #7
Convincing? I meant tempting. It's been a long day.

I'm 6'4" and that's too big for me...

How big/small do you need to ride this 7'1?? clarity needed.
-
• #10
Ah well, it seems frame sizing for a lot of people is an acquired taste. A friend of mine who is 6'4" rides summat like a 63 or 64cm. Silly big.
I'm 6'0" and could easily ride this, although i know i'd find it uncomfortable.Hey Sparky, we've got Bob Jacksons in Cavendish at the mo, come by and compare the 2 if you like? I know which i'd choose anyway, or am i just being biased. Hmm.

I don't like the look of a huge traditional frame. Sloping top tubes have been a Godsend (apols, tynan). BITD it was all about high seatposts and long stems.

Yeah, there's a red one in there that I've had my eye on for months now, just sitting there taunting me for not earning more money!

61cm seat tube is my size

is nice! but:
a) undrilled forks tighten my sphincter.
b) I could get my caygill repaired for the same cost.. and I can't afford that yet either!

Soooo tempted....I have a Donahue road bike. Maybe need to reappraise child support or maintenance....or perhaps you'd take a small child as p/ex?
-

There's is something great about the angle of seat satys on a bike with a tall seat tube, a bit nearer verticle ...
For a tall bike you could do a LOT worse than this.

seriously fucking tempted. i ogle it when ever i swing past cavendish
Ok, so i've got this super nice Dave Quinn track frame...tis too big for me so it's gotta go. Is made from 531c...the lighter, slightly higher end 531 tubing. Possibly built by Paul Donohue, but i can't be sure, he did definitely build some for Dave Quinn. The paint is in mint condition; a couple of tiny blemishes here and there, plus the usual marks on the dropouts. This has only ever been ridden on indoor tracks.
Sizes as follows...
Seat tube: 61cm (c-t) 59.5cm (c-c)
Top tube: 57cm (c-c)
All threads are British and in perfect condition.
Seat post size is 27.2
Comes fitted with a practically brand new Campag chorus headset. I do have a shimano 107 BB i can throw in with it, plus a fairly basic suntour double set up with a single ring to get you on the road?!
Looking for £280 all in.
Here's some pics then
And here's one with wheels in to give an idea of geometry and stuff...tis nice and tight! Oh, and no the wheels aren't for sale, sorry.
The frame is currently hanging in Cavendish, so if you wanna stop by and take a look then you're more than welcome.
