no.
I fell off once when I mixed worn cleats with new pedals and they jammed (years ago, shimano spd)
that's the only time I can blame the pedals.
oh, and the few dozen times they got clogged with mud/sand when off-roading

Trying some for the first time this weekend. I'll let you know!!

I have fallen off due to not getting my feet out of the pedals fast enough but that was a long time after I'd first ridden clipless. I'd just fitted new cleats so think they were the cause.
This happened in front of 50 other cyclists on the first day of a training camp in Spain. Everyone knew who I was after that.

No, no, no. NO. *NO!*

1st time riding with them was fine.
A week later though, totally cunted, fell flat on my face in front of some pretty girls :-( -

This adds to my theory that you only fall off due to clipless issues at the point where the maximum amount of embarrassment is guaranteed.
It's like there is a god after all*, a cruel god who picks on cyclists to amuse himself during a slow moment in another day in paradise.
*don't let Tynan know I said that or they'll be pages and pages of this

Shhhh. Edit it quick before the Tynan virus discovers this.

yep, after about 10 min, i came to a halt but my feet were still in and I just toppled over. loads of kevs were watching as well, all of them laughing at me

I thought I was going to be in for a nightmare when I got my first fixed wheel and clipless pedals but so far 2 months later I'm yet to fall off.

Lots and lots of times, but it was by myself on a very rocky technical mountain bike track. I'd fallen over enough times with platform pedals on that track, never fallen over on the road but have come close practicing track stands at traffic lights.

I am getting slaughtered on a vegan forum. Most of them seem to think that falling off in clipless pedals is an inevitability, and apparently I'm "an ass" and I'm "being jerky" for suggesting that people shouldn't go out riding if they're not confident that they can ride their bikes without falling off. Maybe because they're vegan they're all too weak to unclip, so they all fell over the first few times they tried it, until they got someone to loosen the springs for their skinny weak vegan legs to cope with.

Seriously guys, and girls, vegans piss me off, and I used to be vegan, and it made no difference to my cycling perforumance, but I quit being vegan, partly because vegans piss me off so much, and I don't want to be 'one of them', but also because cheese sandwhiches are a convenient form of carbs and protein even though I dont even like cheese.

Leave us weak and feeble vegans out of this you swine.

I'm sure the ones who aren't morally righteous arsepipes are fine. if only there were more like you.

but then again, it could be a self-righteousness thing.

i didn't fall off the first time i rode with clipless pedals. but i have fallen off. usually because i neglected to tighten the bolts holding them onto my shoes.
twist feet, shoes move, cleats stay firmly lodged, badtmy slow-falls sideways. fuck.

There are vegan forums?

Yes, they're mainly made from soya.

Some vegans do like to fucking go on about it. I personally don't see the point, just because I choose to live my life in a way that benefits my mind doesn't mean everyone should by my ethics. Plus, I love taking the piss out of vegans. It's so easy. -

I keeled over in front of a pair of grannies one time, probably my first week of ever riding clipless... They taunted me with the old 'Are you alright, dear?' line, before they scooted off pushing their shopping trolleys, sniggering malevolently... I choose clips and straps these days, tho' seriously thinking about switching back...

I found clicking outwards hurt the ankles, so click inwards, although have caught the spokes in early days, stil click inwards to this day.
Diddy did did fall off a couple or so times with clips and straps- worra plonker.
I still use clips and straps on the track as I pull up on the pedals lots, and clipless just don't make me feel confident, although I ride happily on the road or off road on clipless On off road I use framed SPD's and if in doubt unclip and just use the frame to pedal on, so don't make a pratt of self, well.........ahem...

I actually hide the fact that I'm (well... was) vegan, because I hate the attention.
"but what do you eat?!"
"but where do you get your protein?!"
"but... but... why?!"
fuck off!!! I've already answered these questions 1,906,767 times, and I never ask meat eaters or vegetarians those questions, so leave me a fuking lone!!!!
According to almost everyone on every cycling or cycling-related forum that I regularly visit: anyone who tries clipless pedals will fall off because of them. It's an inevitability, according to 99.9% of these forumgoers. But I think it's bullshit, most of these people are just crap at simultaneously riding a bike and using their brain, or they're just unlucky beggars, or they're liars who are trying to keep on perpetuating a myth, 'cause it's fun to scare people. Or something like that. Poll to follow.
