sod using the petzl ones, I cave and spend a lot of time underground and I use a cheap energizer headtorch :
I seriously reccomend this, plus I accidently left mine in the rain for two weeks and it still works, it has been dropped in raw sewage and it still works, dropped from 30 foot onto concrete etc.... it is cheap and works like a treat.

the beam from that energizer one is actually powerfull I use it as my main navigation light underground, and I have not had to change the batteries for ages, it lasted an 18 hour stint underground without a battery change.

I have an older version of the Tikka and can vouch for how good they are.
Used for everything from car maintenance to 20 hour winter climbing epics in the highlands.
