Coming home this evening along the Clapham Road from Stockwell to Clapham Common I must have been passed by at least 12 plain clothes police cars seemingly heading south towards Balham - anyone have a clue as to what was going on?

Yup I noticed this too. They were streaming down over London Bridge and down borough high street - I lost count of how many. All of 'em dark blue - scotching my initial theory that someone is selling knock off police sirens to minicabs on eBay

Loads of activity in Herne Hill as well. Police cars everywhere (driving down one way streets, crawling round Brockwell Park), and at one point I saw a huge gang of teenage lads running past. Hmmm.
