Yeah well, there's an alf webb in my bedroom, isn't that good enough?!? :P

Alf Webb IS in your bedroom!

it looks in astoundingly good nick considering it's been hoiked over the back of a skip by a rubbish monkey then dragged out by the seatpost through umpteen sewing machines.
I'm just trying to sow seeds of doubt here to make myself happier.

this sort of shit is what i live for and why I have to visit every bike shop in every city/town/village i go anywhere near. But a dump? Gee whizz, what a jammy sod. I bet she has a killer rack too.

I've not met the man's Mrs, but if she's anything like mine the occasional quality frame is the fucking least she can do...

Right, I'll give you 80 quid to put it in a skip, let me know where and I'll 'find' it. Awesome.

Could I just not tidy my bedroom for a few weeks and give you a line of string and a hip flask full of water?

Leave Southgate alone. Thats mine! Only found 2 stems, a set of levers and 2 sets of bars so far. Need to revisit.

It's a bit like the guy on retrobike who consistently finds gems at his local skip, old campag stuff, clean old racers etc. I need to find the walthamstow tip.
Yey!

i go to the tip all the time, never seen a bike. the troll-men who guard it take anything like that for themselves, as it is their birth-right, apparently.

Nice.
Last week my brother found an abandoned Geoffrey Butler at the side of a lane in Kent. No wheels or seatpost, but kitted out in a lovely Shimano* 600 groupset. All the components are engraved rather than just have a sticker whacked on them. He's going to do it up and use it as a winter bike.
- I never thought the words lovely and Shimano could be used together.

Woah! Too nice a find.
I remember speaking to a guy a few year ago who lived out of London.
He would visit the skip regularly and pick up amazing old Italian bikes!!!Didn't think it'd still be the case!
Who's up for a tip ride!?

A friend of mine emailed me last week asking how to strip the frame of an old Cinelli he found in his local skip. I waited a couple of days to tell him as i was too evnious. Things like these always happen to others.. i hate everyone

define local, also its a recycling point... throwing away is a thing of the past.
I am setting up an "Old re-Cycle" center to assist those who want to dispose of bikes. Most london re-cycle centers have charities that take bike parts and uplift them for a charitable cause.
If you think of it like that then this greedy b-tard is robbing from the poor.. that thought makes me despise him even more...
