this might be reigniting the old 'software piracy' argument but I know I'd be well unhappy if I found anyone downloading my screenprints, enlarging them and printing them out.
Maybe the better question is to ask if there are any photographers, printers, artists etc. that wouldn't mind exchanging something - long live barter etc.

You could searching for Creative Commons - free licensed sites?
EDIT -- also, a lot of flickr content is CC licensed. -

perhaps I should have been clearer, I meant legal download, like purchase it, then enlarge it for a bigger wall etc.
No bother if noone knows of such a thing, was just a question. -

you still have to give the author credit.
Depends on the license.

Depends on the license.
not on flickr - I'm not a heavy-flow flickr kinda guy, but as far as I can work out it's not possible to set a CC licence without setting Attribution as part of the licence conditions.

besides, almost no image on flickr is going to be high-res enough to enlarge to poster size without looking gash

I am an artist, I have paintings of fat naked ladies, and also strange paintings of other things. And also some sculptures. I could come and paint on your walls if you want me to.

this website has some very reasonably priced artwork you can purchase directly from the artists so you can get original, low-cost artwork and still support the artist :
www.etsy.com
etsy also has really awesome accessories, jewelry, trinkets and everything else handmade.
also, the fine art adoption network is a website of artists looking to buck the corporate art trend ("art=$$"), so you can "apply" to adopt a piece of original art, and if they choose you all you have to do is pay s&h. just come up with some cool stories or something to make yourself stand out.
www.fineartadoption.net
even if you're broke, there's nothing better to spend some money on. well maybe your bike. art or your bike.

ooh click on etsy quick because ironically the front page is all bike-related handpicked items.
Hi, this is comp non bike related but loads of people on here seem to know little gem websites and thought could maybe point me in the right direction.
I moved into my place nearly a year ago and am now at the point where the plain walls could do with something on them other than paint. I dont have loads of cash to spend and was wondering if anyone knew anywhere I could download and then enlarge to the required size any decent prints /art / pictures / photos etc?
Thanks alot,
Jamie
