yea i bought a bikebuilder bike from them and ive ordered parts from them as well ,good company but you have to pay postage unlike wiggle or CRC

I also got one through their bike builder, although a few words of caution about my experiences with them.. Their customer service was pretty slack, it took three weeks for the bike to be built, and i had to pester them continually for a estimated delivery date.. Asside from that i can safely say that the bikes are pretty well put together ( although i had to retighten/adjust a few parts such as headset and brake levers etc when it was delivered, but nothing more than problematic than that)
Nice frames and pretty reasonably priced in my opinion.. -

good service here too, bought a bike and quite a bit of clothing and bike bits.
Bike took three weeks but they were upfront all the way so it's all good!

Technically, I bought my Ribble off ebay and I've only ordered once from them (it was fine). So I can't condemn them but I'm not exactly qualified enough to judge. Their winter bike does the job pretty damn well though.

what IS a winter bike?
snow chains and heated saddle?

A road bike with more relaxed geometry and bigger clearances for mudguards plus mudguard mounts.
-
• #9
Or just the name given to the cheaper of your two road bikes. The one you take out when it's torrential outside and £4k worth of carbon really doesn't deserve it..
-
• #10
i see. why more relaxed geom? so it's not too twitchy on icy roads?

I had the same experience. It took 5 weeks for a bike build and although they promised me a black frame I got a blue one! Slack customer service but a good price for a decent set-up...

On certain bike forums, they've got some dissenters, but I've never had problems, and been ordering intermittently for years.
For everyone's information, Parker International have recently introduced a free postage option, so I wouldn't be surprised if Ribble followed suit eventually, or just upped the discounts.

Bastard. Are you sure postage is free? I ordered a saddle on Wednesday last week and got charged P&P. If it is free its probably some minimum spend deal. Sneaky.
Thats why like CRC you can buy anything and they post for free, fast. Loving they're work.

Yeah - it (Parker) was the only place I could get an aftermarket (if that's the right word) 9spd cassette for Campag with an 11t. I went to the delivery details page cos I was comparing the total price with another shop, and there was a message about the new initiative (no minimum spend). You have to choose the free p&p option at the checkout.

I have use it, and the only but, if any, is that the delivery is second class, no first.
the thing is, who cares when is free?

i have bought a few things from them (good deal on campag record bottom brackets) and never had any problems. they're reputable. go for it.

Ribble are fine, but if you go in the shop and order you get your bike dam site quicker, depends if your local or not ... id guess not though on this forum
the people inside are the type that talk fairly slow but keep on doing things, i rekon on the phone that would come across as quite poor service? due to them not being immediately chirpy etc

Does this mean the North is slower than the South?!

Had some bad experience with customer service as well, ordered a wheelset and after days found out they didn't have it in stock... so why have on the website?
+1 for CRC, not just the free postage is a plus, their prices are really unbelievable low...

Dunno how many others got this email from CRC regarding the flooding of one of their order processing facilities. Anyway, they gave discounts:
"£ 5 Discount on all orders over £50 enter code: Flood5
£10 Discount on all orders over £100 enter code: Flood10
£50 Discount on all orders over £500 enter code: Flood50
Voucher Code will be valid until Midnight Sunday 7th September and can be activated in the order basket." -

UTFS'd.
Anyone got any thoughts about the Ribble Deda EM2 frame? Looks like it's quite widely used by bigger names and Ribble seem to be selling it damn cheap. They say it weighs 950g - looking at Weight Weenies, that makes it as light as a Trek 5900 Superlight or a Scott Addict R4 - that can't be right, surely?
About to pull the trigger on a build based on this, w/ Veloce etc, 980, good price?

just thought i would add my 2p.
i have been a customer of ribble for the last few years with no issues at all, infact i would have suggested anyone order from them. until this last week!
i placed an order that was dispatched on the 6th of july and according to their times due delivery in 1-3 days. the order never showed up, fair enough, not their fault. checked with post office, dead end.
called ribble on friday who suggest that i should order again and i can pick up on saturday (i happened to be going to blackburn), then they will refund my original order. no probs.
online about to re order, notice i cant get the same discount code as before, so i call up, guy on the phone says to me "dont worry about it, just come here and we can give you a replacement". perfect.
off i go to ribble to find out that this is not possible, and they cant take a new order in their "shop" as they dont take money there(?!). i'm a little pissed off as to all intent i had driven 40mins based on something said to me by them for nothing.
they were very rude, culminating in them accusing me of making up that i had spoken to someone on the phone on friday, and then telling me a lie claiming that only two people were there on friday and neither of them spoke to me.
i tried to suggest that in this instance an apology for making me drive up there was the best possible course of action, their response: laughing. leading me me leaving the shop.
i will be getting a refund from them, and i will never shop there again, or suggest that anyone else does.
i thank you. rant over.
Just a quick question, has anyone here any experience ordering from these guys?
