I might be along (depending on the state of my thesis), but I wasn't that impressed with the Rapha Ride East last month. Too many cobbles and traffic lights, and the route wasn't really designed for that many people, at that time of day. Still, Richmond Park's always a treat. We can go roadie-baiting...

• #5
how many people turned up for it?
-
• #6
Ooh, I don't know. 40ish? Too many for us to stay in one bunch, anyway. It was a bit like the first mile of the Dunwich Dynamo, but for the whole ride. Nice people though.

• #7
well, the roebuck is a great pub, so if it's a nice evening, it'll be good
-

True, true. I think they should start it somewhere different though. There's so much good cycling to be had in South West London - why waste time getting there from Smithfield?
Oh dear, I appear to be in a bit of an Eeyore mood today - this is what a rest day does to me!

it's all too late for me. the ride won't finish till 8.30- 9pm, and then i have to get back to clapham and back down here.

So who was there last night then? I was dragged along by my Rapha employed girlfriend.
Was quite fun, despite the ride getting split into at least 3 different groups stranded in 3 different parts of west London, and the rather slow pace. -
• #15
I was there. Dark-haired girl on a pink Surly Steamroller. Who were you?
-
• #16
Oh hello!
I was the bloke on the dark blue IRO. Very nice to meet you.
-

Yeah bloody typical that I'd spot this:
Rapha Summer Rides 2008
Rapha is organising four social London summer rides in association with the CTC. Rides go to all four corners of the capital - North, South, East and West.
Each ride will start at 19.30 from Smithfield Market, EC1 and will end with food and drink. The rides will be fairly short and definitely not competitive. Participation is FREE.
The rides will take place on the last Thursday of each month – from May through August.
Rapha Rides West 28th August
Taking riders across town and into west London, the ride will head south, crossing Putney Bridge before heading for a lap or two in leafy Richmond Park. From here, riders will head to The Roebuck pub on Richmond Hill for refreshment.
Anyone up for it? Make a change from West drinks on the River?...
