My wheels!

  • So I decided to build my wheels up, never done it before. But it turned out quite good, radial front and 3x back. Hard part left now, truing them :S

  • What are you doing with the old ones?

i.e. if you need to make some space?

  • They go back on my other bike. :)

  • Meh!

  • Look nice anyway- you drilled you bb yet?

  • thanks and no, will do it this weekend, want to take the BB out before I drill the shell.

  • Very wise- if you want to borrow the BB tool/spanner/drill/drill-bit then feel free to rock over on Sunday.

You can do the drilling though- I'm not going to be responsible for that!

  • i see some stickers that need removing!

  • But the stickers are so cool :/

  • removing stickers is so last year nice wheels jo

  • johan, your new bike is soooo lovely and understated. I think pete is right that the sitckers would just detract from the loveliness of the overall look of the bike.

  • yeah, get the lighter fluid or surgical spirit out to removed the gluey shit after you've peels the stickers off.

    Nice set of wheels.

  • Weird but true - mayonnaise removes the gluey shit...

  • Thanks, will remove the stickers. Will most likely use ligther fluid, mayonnaise seems a bit over the top.

  • Weird but true - mayonnaise removes the gluey shit...

    It's the vinegar.

  • If I put vinegar on my chips while I remove the stickers, will this help?

  • No but the rims will be more tasty.

  • truing tip:

after the wheel seems true, flip it round to see if youve accidently caused uneven dishing.

Will usually require a tiny bit of tweaking back in the oppossite direction.

Also when it seems done, squeeze the spokes with all your might, perhaps even step on them to help them bed.

    Then re-true accordingly.
