You wanting 105 etc is telling me your after something modern?
I have something old! (worth a shot?)
A touring frame made by respected independent builder tom bromwich in his shed workshop, stamped 1972. A local expert however insisted the frame had early 60's lugs and a pre-67 head badge. He valued it at £120
Its in very good nick, pearl-turqouise around a 56 I think.
It is obviously for 27" wheels, which are great for comfortable riding. But the frame will hapily run on 700's, I can even provide some brakes.
let me know if your at all interested, im open to offers.

interested. do you have pics? is it a whole bike or frame and fork? I'd swap out the 27s for him as I would be worried that he'd have a hard time finding some when on tour.

Will try and get you some pics tommorow, my cameras broke so will have to mooch one of a friend. :P
Yup its a frame & fork sale. Although a few bits can be thrown in, such as the original cotter chainset & mudguards. A very nice corinthian stem was fitted to it when I got it, you may be interested in that too.

keep an eye on this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/dawes-galaxy-tour-touring-road-bike_W0QQitemZ110278544330QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item110278544330&_trkparms=72%3A984%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1318
ebay is defiantly a good place to look for touring bikes as not many people like them.

I have a cheap alloy 56cm track frame for sale! Or is that a plainly ridiculous suggestion? (I realise OP is for a tourer but, y'know...)

Unforutnately I dont think he'd do the trip single speed or fixed... even though I'd like him better if he did! ;) thanks for the offer tho!

Hi,
I got some stuff here: http://www.londonfgss.com/thread9453.html

yes, that is a absolutely Lovely Carlton. If it was my size I would have PMd you already.. but for my housemate it won't do unfortunately. Touring without bottle cages and racks just would not be possible for him.
Best of luck with the sale... its a STUNNING bike.
Hey Kids,
I have convinced my house mate that his Halford special is dead and he's come round to the idea of getting a tourer. He'll be riding it across norway in the late summer early fall. Since he doesn't know much about bikes I'm helping him out.
This is what I am looking for:
56 cm steel frame /fork not compromised suitable for 700 wheels,
or a whole bike.
Shimano 600 or 105 group set / bits and pieces
It doesn't have to look good so long as it is sound.
Negotiable price depending on the state of the bike.
Many thanks,
Jacqui
