I have had my sister-in-law's nice Basso frame powder coated by Armourtex and I was a little disappointed that it didn't come out as I had hoped - although it has grown on my and I now think it looks lovely.
Armourtex don't really have a lot of samples therefore I think it would be useful for us to have a little reference thread where people, who are planning to have their frame re-sprayed, can have a look what it all looks like in the end.
Armourtex use the RAL colour system so I think it would be useful if people could include which colour they had.

keep this thread going, i'm thinking about getting my frame done, that flecked metallic finish is too tempting - would look amazing in in a dark gray. (like that nagasawa that was in bikeporn ages ago)

The Pink rims are Heather Violet
The Blue is the nice blue, the bright / sky blue. Don't remember the name or number.
Armourtex in both cases. -

Armourtex RAL 4005 with silver metallic & clear coat
/attachments/6787It wasn't my first choice (wanted something darker) but they don't have every single RAL colour in stock so I had to settle. It's really grown on me and now I think its the shizzle. Changes shade in different lights and the silvery lustre at night is wicked.
I'll take some close-up snaps if anyone is interested. For the money the job is sweet, only a couple of little faults here and there but you have to nearly have your nose touching it.

Here's a frame I just got done the other week.
It's Cream 9001 with a gloss clear coat.
They also gave me a flyer with all the prices on etc, don't know if this is a repost or if it would be better to post it elsewhere, but I thought it might be useful to others anyway.

that frame was so nice :(Damn, that's a nice colour. What, pray tell, is it?
My frame needs a respray; I spent the first week worrying about scratching it, the second week scratching the hell out of it and then haven't chipped or scratched it since :/

Looks great! No that was stove enamelled by Mercian.
The OP does say powdercoat or others up top, but I guess I should've realised it would be all powder and 2pack stuff going up.

ehren that armourtex red is horrible
So I've had a look at the rest of the forum and having been all set to go to Mario Vaz I'm now tempted by Armourtex as they're handily a lot closer.
There seems to be lots of Vaz hating although very few pictures of the problems, conversely there seems to be lots of Armourtex loving but very few pictures of the finished results with transfers applied.
I'm just trying to make a decision I've got an alloy and steel frame that I need to do, but could do with really seeing pictures of either finishers work so I can make a reasonable decision.
I've searched but can't find a lot in the way of pictures to help so far, any help appreciated.
