Help with Microsoft Word (MS Word questions)

anyone know the font and subset where i'll find a tick (as opposed to a cross) or know the character code for it?

my eyes hurt from scrolling through all the symbols and in three passes i still haven't found it!

pretty sure if you type a '4' in Zapf Dingbats you'll gt a tick.

"Wingdings 2" and a capital P work in Word 2007.

This is the same tick as "Webdings" font and the letter 'a'.

There are also some unicode ticks:

✓ U+2713 CHECK MARK (tick)
✔ U+2714 HEAVY CHECK MARK (bold tick)
☐ U+2610 BALLOT BOX (square)
☑ U+2611 BALLOT BOX WITH CHECK (square with tick)

Those can just be cut 'n' pasted from here.

Also, in Wingdings ü is a tick.

Which means you can do:
1) Insert > Symbols
2) Select Wingdings as the font
3) Enter 252 as the character code

He, he. I do like ASCII art, but of course it depends entirely on what is actually ASCII'd.

I love FIGlet, too.

Right, this is really annoying me. The size of the 'ribbon' or toolbar in word 2007 is HUGE on my computer. It's not that big on other other peoples computers.

I can't figure out how to change the size! someone help me!
