• I tried searching and didn't find any mentions of it, so how about Byercycles single speed bike?
    Worth adding to the list?
    The more, the merrier.

    Added.

    EDIT:
Latest count of bikes under £500 is 23, and between £500-£800 are 18 bikes.

(Not including 2009 or the "quirky" models)

  • Hi Guys,

I am in a similar position: Could stetch it to 550. I live in Forest Hill ad despite the hill I want a single speed for ease.
    What about Cotic Roadrat?

    Thanks so much

  • Guys, I stumbled upon a site called kdbikes, claiming they deliver cannondale Capo and Specialized langster at 40% off the US retails price. Did anyone here about them before, any idea, review? Thanks in advance.

  • Actually, just re-googled it and it is marked on other forums as bogus, ignore my earlier post. Sorry!

  • Hi everyone, as you can tell from my name I am new to Fixies and ss.

I have rode mountain bikes since i was young and used to do MTB trials.

Im now looking at a ss/fixie for commuting and having some fun on.

I was orignally looking at the Charge plug freestyler, then i cam across the felt curbside.

I like the styling of the curbside but its a bit expensive for me really.

I found after looking in this thread i found this bike

    SE BIKES Lager
    http://www.tritoncycles.co.uk/produc...80p4471&z=4775
    WHITE IS THE NEW BLACK.

was think of putting cut down risers on it obvioulsy need to test ride the bikes before hand but was wondering whether anyone could give me there advice or opinions on whats best for around £400-500

Sorry to babble on guys any help you can offer would be great?!

p.s. are the parts on the felt curbside much better than the SE?! worth the extra money?!

  • Fixie newbie, when you've been riding fixed/SS for a few years, will you change your name then?

No-one on here has microscopically examined every part, on every OTP bike, so your question will only be answered by those with some experiance of both bikes. Which might not be many.

Try bikes out, then buy what you like. If you can't try them out, I think the Felt will be a better bike. Though there are much cheaper that are listed, so I don't understand why you choose those 2 only.

I feel you may be the only person (if you're male) to buy the Curbside (in the original Celeste/Baby Blue), before its dropped in price to 5 quid. The white version isn't bad. The Lager is a cliche of a style statement - OTP Hipsterism.

  • Just seen one of these, is kinda nice but it ticks way too many boxes, and has no straps on the pedals, but is surprisingly light.

Other than the seat and w/e that top tude cover thing is called, I like the colours.

  • are you serious?
    *

*I guarantee you'd go off it in a week.

  • Ok if you're a Chav.

  • The frame colour is fine, the hubs I can live with. I'd change the seat and grips and get rid of that top tube thing and yeah I don't mind it.

  • Luv the touche, the pomp, pista.

  • Ellis-Briggs Fixed Road Bike added.

A bit of specialist frame building added to a sea of factory-produced OTPs.

Ellis-Briggs made the new information available in the British Frame Manufacturers thread.

  • GA2G, don't forget to change the price tag on the Bianchi Pista, it's no longer under £500, (click the link that you originally provided and you'll find the price have increase by £125).

  • Cheers Ed. I hadn't forgotten. I was only waiting on the 2009 bikes to all be in the shops (within the next couple of weeks, and I would update it all at once. Many 2009 bikes are now on shop floors, but not all just yet.

  • If you want to quickly change the freestyler's priec from £359 to £348, same link and all :)

EDIT: Same dealio for plug racer.

  • Ooooooooo!!

    Suddenly everybody's a critic!!

  • Tifosi Pista, Ridgeback Solo and others added.

Wilier Pista deleted, as no 2009 model is shown, and it seems that retailers are selling off 2008 stock. If Wilier Pistas come back on sale, I'll add them.

If I've missed anything, please let me know. Cheers me dears.

It's that time of the month.

    :D

  • A really useful winter bike just found and added.

The ELMY CYCLES Grass Track bike - £349. http://www.elmycycles.co.uk/Road_bikes.htm

Comes with treaded/knobbly tyres. The price is tempting, even for a back-up/bad weather bike.

Cycle Surgery do have the 2009 Wilier listed, for £830!

  • Well done. I had seen the black 2009 model somewhere, but then I couldn't find it on Wilier's own site. Cheers.

  • NEW: Charge Plug Grinder, £470, rather like how it look despite the price tag.

  • I absolutely LOVE the colour, and the look of that Charge Plug Grinder.

No evidence that I can find of them being on sale in the UK though. Shame.

  • I think that Grinder looks delightful - would be better (for me) with drop bars and the brown Spoon saddle - black looks odd to me
