  • What's the cheapest option for a piece of front wheel bling?

  • haha

  • ok..... an unworthy question? I suppose I should be grateful that you even deigned to answer it.

  • Front wheel dumpstered behind a bikeshop (the tire was also dumpstered behind the same bikeshop).
Rear wheel was photoshopped.... I think i need one of those though ;)

  • spokeless and tyreless

  • brianwan: nice... now you only need a matching 700c rear ghibli for that one.. :)

Btw, was it you that got hold of the Campy Khamsin rear disc from ebay a while ago?
I'm kind of looking into getting one of those (as stated above). Should be nice for streetbling, since they are clincher.

  • wasn't me, an old school rear ghibli is pretty hard to find nowadays, i'll keep my eyes on ebay
and i'll need a campag aero seatpost, turbo saddle and bullhorns

  • Check Lauren Fignons bike in this . . . original HHSB:

Btw. do you know how wheels like the Ghibli or Khamsin hold up for driving around town? (jumping curbs etc.)

Can't speak for their strength, but I get pushed around a little by mild winds with a Hed3 front, I imagine having a disc wheel on the front would be treacherous on a windy day.

  • Ask Yorgo.
He got floored by a gust of wind at polo a couple of weeks ago. Wouldn't want that in front of a bus.

  • Front wheel disk is definitely a no no for riding in any sort of wind. Hed 3 is ok, a bit twitchy when its really blowing. Campag rear discs are super strong, though. They would take even the worst potholes.

  • Trackies and TT'ers across the globe are cringing at the thought of their wonderful time shaving devices being ridden over potholes on the way to a pub.

    Rakan: Nice one! :)

It is a rear oldskool Khamsin/Ghibli disc that i want.. to go with a Shamal frontwheel.. only for the bling.. :)

They need to HTFU then ;)
Btw, this being copenhagen i don't think i would leave a wheel like that outside a pub anyway ;)

  • I bust out a rear HED disc (brought off Brian!) and a front Aerospoke round town and it isnt nearly as bad as people make out - obviously if its really windy i swap out the rear wheel for something more sane, the disc is tough but has zero give and transmits every bit of shit road surface through your spine (not helped by my choice of frame). Plus the sound it makes when going along is awesome . .

Heres a pic, though it now has drops, FSA Vigorelli crank set and proper pedals:

  • Still no chain?

HTFU tynan, ride the HED3 everyday. get a polo disc to get used the autopilot.

    noChain™

went for a black un in the end

  • Racist

  • multichainacultralist

  • what seatpost?

  • Specialized Zertz something or other - i pilfered it off a mates S works:

  • hey, vinyl. when you bringing that to wests, wanna see her in the flesh.
