I'm on 48x18, and happy with it - but I haven't really tried anything else. I've got a flip-flop hub with 19 on the other side, but I've never been bothered to use it. Why don't you get a flip-flop, so you can try both?

I love 48x19, totally skidtastic... It's so easy to stop I could probably run brakeless on it... But I won't...

When I build my custom otp Langster 2007... ride it for 3months, then strip it down buy new replacement parts I might spray it lilac otp. Anyone fancy watching? I'll probably create a ball achingly crap blog about it...

...oh and create a new user name and for my first post sell the seatpost, and ask someone where south drinks are.

can't wait. really, i am actually looking forward to this.
however, you'll be in direct competition with my blog; detailing the complex work invoolved in tracking down original parts for a 2008 gunmetal Fuji in order to restore to its former glory. currently looking for some mint Alex Rims and 2008 model RPM crankset. Would also pay big bucks for embossed Fuji seatpost.
when i've done that i'm going to get to work on a 2009 Lemond Filmore i found in this old guy's shed. Looking for top-of-the-line bontrager OTP parts for that beauty.

YOu're going about this the wrong way. You have to match your eyebrows to you jaw not the otherway around. I l like a rough 2:1 jawline to eyebrows ratio myself, allows for a good look of suprise on the face without looking like you are being raped as so many people who run the more popular 3:1 ratio look like..

I ran 52:19 on 27 x 1.25" wheel.
Felt pretty good, but im going for a more spinny gear to improve my fitness.

Hi,
I am currently on 48x16 which i find v. difficult to stop. Some people have recommend me to change to 48x18, which seems to be a very good ratio to ride in London. I understand that ratio would only leave me with 3 skid points so I am also considering 48x19. however 48x19 (2.52x) seems to be a lot lighter than (2.66x) Is anyone using 48x19 and how are you finding it?
Thanks for your reply.
