Best midgy repellent I've ever used was water+freshly squeezed orange juice, just misted onto my skin+clothes. All natural and works wonders.

in scotland the midges are fookin; hard, no lemon juice is gonna stoop 'em man.

Always worked for me with weekend spent over in Loch Lomond, hill climbing when I was younger and walks in woods.

All of the above happening in Scotland.

Loch Lomond is West Coast, Loch Tay is a different beast; it's not the midgies you have to worry about, it's the Fifers & Dundonians, when they come raiding yer tent.
