Upgrading Fuji Cranks

  • It's about time I started upgrading some more components (have already changed stem/bars/saddle/wheels). Can I replace the FSA cranks directly with JIS (sugino?) cranks on the same BB without affecting the chainline as I understand the FSA chainring is dished? Don't mind upgrading BB if I need to.

  • In a word, no.

Cheap Sugino cranks are indeed JIS, but run a shorter spindle (generally 103mm as they are reworked road cranks).

Top notch Sugino (75, Grand Mighty) are ISO and will sit too far out on the standard 110mm FSA/RPM BB.

The 75 sits well on the Miche BB, which is cheap as chips.

Search the forum for "transmission database" to find a selection of happy combinations.

  • It's like buying a Hyundai and spending £2k on body kit and fat exhaust..

  • u mean buying a metro and spending £2k on a boby kit
