  • Spotted it on the Pearson site, pretty smart and reasonable value off the peg, looks a bit more appealing than the touche, £450 mall in...

  • dude had one at south drinks tonight. looked good. those are the cheapo cranks, the £40 bb, cranks, chainset combo. looks like a black touche to me.

Although pearson themselves and a couple of shops sell those cranks for around that price doesnt mean theres anything inferior about them.

A lot of FSA cranks are excellent. I have no experience with these but, the FSA vero's seem to come on some of the nicer off the peg bikes.

A lot better than them bulldog cranks or whatever!

hey, i thought you moved to Bradford?

  • my mum lives in bradistan. i go there to pick up cheapo frames which are collect only. and listen to her 'boyfriend' who sounds like this:

    i'm moving to brist-hole on 1st august.

  • i wish pearson would make their decal type smaller

  • I think that's the worst bike I've ever seen!

  • The slope on that top tube is uuuuugly. This is not racist.

  • Racist!

  • I think that's the worst bike I've ever seen!

    Bullshit.

    This one's worse for starters..

  • it's really not that bad. there's a veritable reindeer of a bike with a 6ft antlers stem extension in another thread.

  • I think that's the worst bike I've ever seen!

    Close.

  • Certainly the worst photoshopping I've seen (except for my own) :)

A lot of expensive OTP bikes have some truly grim componentry.

especially that OBEY piece of junk. can't get worse that that!

  • i saw one of them there fuji obeys in BLB today. it's drilled for a rear brake but NOT a front.

    what the shitting fuck?

  • Bullshit.

    This one's worse for starters..

Why is this bike being ridden by a table; it's not as funny as a reindeer riding a bike.

  • Woah.. I feel all dizzy now.. and it ain't the pills..

  • should remind you of home

  • hehe
Actually it does.. due to the fact there's actual real fucking sunlight in that photo!!

  • I bought a Hanzo from Pearsons at the end of July. Just started using it regularly for winter club rides. So far so good, extremely comfortable.

Yeah, I've read a lot of people dissing those cranks but they're actually more than fine. I'm sure there are lighter crank arms around, but they're stiff and they work. I think the issue is that the chain-ring is forged rather than machined and thus looks decidedly cheap. This might be an issue on a geared bike, but on a fixed wheel where the chain is not moving, it's hardly going to make a difference in the wear rate.

    Good package the Pearson!

  • Right...

its an alright starter to build upon. You're better off just getting the frame and fork if you really want a Pearson. Upgrade wheels and cranks, and seat and seatpost. Luckily I know a guy who knows a guy who deals with the manufacturer, so I can get the F&F cheap as fuck.

The rims are shite, they wear really quickly and then break.

The seat is shite - after a few months it will dip in the middle, leaving your perenium unsupported (I know you shouldnt put any pressure on your peri but the point is that the middle of that seat is weak as fuck).

As for FSA vero/rpm* cranks... lol - bare jokes!!! They self destruct and take a chunk out of my new frame. Nice! Do yourself a favour and upgrade.

*rpms are identical to veros but veros have square taper hole, rpms have isis hole

  • On the plus side, the hubs, bars and levers and brakes are alright. Though no doubt you'll change the bars to narrow hipster bars like I have
