Damn you, you know I want some Lightweight wheels.

What about me you slag! What are you saying Roberto!?! :P
There must have been 20 sets of Lightweight wheels in Group 1 L2P. It was fucking sickening!
£2000/set or whatever they are. Fsck me bling bling!Edit: Tubs, nevermind.

End the discrimination against tubulars! :)
This is a good article about why using tubs...
-
• #5
do you use tubs?
-

Got a pair of Mavics which are tubs - tubs are ok for summer, for winter clinchers can make your life easier.
All you need is to get that Tufo sealant glue... and carry a spare tub tyre, in case you get a puncture that can't be fixed (once happened with me in the middle of nowhere on the A3) :(

a grand a wheel, and they couldn't be bothered to use a Graphic Designer to Design a decent Graphic. C'mon, what the hell is that Lightweight text, in THAT hideous font, doing there!? Its laughable! Theft prevention psychology perhaps, aimed at graphically aware thieves who only steal things with decent typography...

It's a stencil, i guess for weight purposes?

Nice fonts aren't any heavier than disgusting fonts!
I am merely passing comment on the lack of thought gone into this detail, in a 1K wheel!

That;s a shame, skulls. I have a spare set of those kicking about gathering dust.
Was gonna offer them to you, but i doubt you'd want them with that hideous typography

A question about tubs? I use Tufo tape on my tubs. Touch wood so far I have never had a puncture. I have mine filled with latex sealant and when I ride I carry extra sealant and a pump. I figure that all I need to do is get myself to the nearest train station. So question is ought I be carrying a spare tyre too and if I am using tape do I need also to carry extra tape and glue? Incidently if anyone has a Cinelli tub bag to sell I might be interested..:)

Buddha, have you punctured yet? I tried latex sealant but it didnt work!

TSB: 12bar? No wonder you get a sore arse :)
The closest I'd go to running tubs is Vittoria Open Corsas. Even they are too fragile for long stuff I reckon, although I only p_nct_re twice during Wessex in truly horrible conditions.
Still, I went back to using Vittoria Rubino Pro on London2Paris. No issues with them at all. -

what are those spokes on the lightweights? they don't look like they're metal ( i know little of such expensiveness)

+1. And if you have a spoke problem it has to go back to Lightweight's for repair!

The spokes are carbon of some sort, also ugly colour in my opinion.

the whole wheel is one piece, is some sort of process where they immers?? the wheel in a fluid to make it one piece. you can not true the wheel or anything. They say is stiff and long lasting, kind or full carbon or composite wheel

The Lightweight's construction is a little odd. Spoked yes, but also 'monocoque' in the sense that the wheel is constructed as one piece, as you would build a frame, with no adjustment for true or replacement of spokes possible.
David and Simon, this for you!
Lightweight wheels, NEW never ridden, Campag compatible, year 06 i think - £1500 (costs £1800 at JE James Cycles) - tyres not included;
Mavic Ksyrium ES, tub/Shimano fitting (can be easily converted to Campag), ridden by myself for a few miles only, superb condition - SOLD
Campag Record carbon UT cranks, 175mm, 53/39, excellent condition, comes with Campag rings and chainring bolts
Peace!
