it's quite off the peg, but he may have ruined it by putting his own pedals on. I hate it when people customize like this
at least he's got the sense to keep the grips clean by not using them!

He's got the 'fixie grip' position sorted. (Have you noticed people emulating this style on a bike w/o a cross lever brake and a freewheel?).

Aye some of it is anal. I started riding fixed wheels a year ago. Whats the big deal with y'all hating . Hate leads to... etc. Aslong as you enjoy cycling it shouldn't mater how you got into it.
Most everyone riding fixed is a pretentious f*ck though IMO.lets hate on

I think it's great. It bears the very barest of similarities (bare in the original sense, not in teenspeak) to what most of us would consider the current London fixed aesthetic. Two brakes, no clips, slack chain (all combining for what I believe is called "single speed") upward sloping top tube, three Tshirts, rubbish, sweaty trousers and socks with the specialised logo under frankly bewildering shoes. He seems to be fighting with the bike to tell it wear to go - I've never seen such a struggle for a bit of playground tarmac.
I've absolutely no problem if a rash of these people start appearing. They'll be doing it wrong and soon wonder what the fuss is about and next year will buy a commuter of a different sort.

fuck, you got there first before I did, I took the same photos 3 weeks ago, but forget to post it in the forum!

I think it is radical ! He has obviously "just bust a couple of moves" at a hip hop "throw down" - where he "jammed" to some "rave music" before "tagging" a wall with his "tag" and is racing off before the "pigs" catch him and "bang him up".
Ah yeah. Specialized. Ah Yeah [insert scratch sample].

That guy isn't riding that bike, he's being ridden. That's what OTP is all about.
-
• #17
I'd go further than that. I'd say he is being taken for a ride.

Did anyone actually notice that he have specialized sock on as well? it look more like a specialized advert than a cycle surgery one.

You guys may have hit on something else, besides that "everyone's getting in on the act". I noticed a few weeks ago, when I went into a cycle shop on Kensington High Street, that almost all the products were made by Specialized. Most of the accessories, nearly all the bikes, and even the posters in the shop were of Specialized. I thought this was just a strange coincidence, but wondered if Specialized just have a larger advertising budget than anybody else at the moment, and maybe this is their Microsoft-type campaign? Is it just a lucky coincidence that the Cycle Surgery poster looks like a Specialized advert?

Years ago, Cannondale was really big, but not so much now.
I swung by the spangly new Cycle Surgery store up from Kings Cross, built into the new student halls of residence. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Cycle Surgery, they've done some good things for me in the past, but this was unnecessary:
