Milan single speed craze

got back from milan on friday. they really love the single speed thing out there. everyone rides one from full on cycle nuts to little old ladies via suited up possers. only saw a couple of fixed slaves with narrow bars and obligatory dreadlocks though.

Any photos of your visit, and those mad ss/fixed-gear riding Italians?

Errrr, which Milan are you talking about exactly, the one in Italy or some other Milan where people ride fixed wheel?
I've been going to Milan atleast 4 times a year for 7 years and I only saw my first one last Wednesday....

i'm talking milan as in italy yes. saw a few fixed round the cathedral chilling on the steps on thursday evening. guess i was lucky

there is definitely a fixed gear hip hop slave crowd there - all the kids in streetwear/fashion/photography there are riding FG. Saw a few last march.
The BFF is big there.

yeah but single speed is what he said, not fixed gear. he mentioned fixed gear at the end.

I'm from not far from there, prior to move to London I lived for a long while in Torino (Turin)...
most people in italy is riding single speed bikes like this:

and in the last few years it happened also to see a wave of fixed gear riders...but way less HHS than here...
there's also to say that's so easy to find lovely track frame for cheap, really cheap till now. I found my frame in the cellar of a shop collecting dust with other 20-30 track frames...
now of course it's becoming fashionable and so prices are growing...but still not so much..
shame there are almost no velodromes...
and just fakengers as there are no courier companies that employ bike couriers..
but lately lot of alley cats with load of people taking part...

shed loads of the second pic not many of the first though as it is milan don't you know. but as mentioned a good collection of fixed in the square. i know fixed comes first on this site but i ride a ss so notice them a bit more.
