depends on the other variables dude, your length of body/arms and length of top tube. the fact the bike is fixed is neither here nor there. i had a 14cm quill on a small peugoet fixed but have also ridden with a 6cm jobby. looks like a nice stem.

yep, will make it super hard to do bar spins, that's all a fixie is good for

just an excuse for two of my favourite forum photos - but surely an unsuitable stem problem could be exacerbated by bullhorns yet minimised by moustaches?

I'm planning to use a regular Cinelli race bar. Turn it around an cut it.
It goes on a Motobecane from early 80s. I believe the size of the rame is 60.
And I'm 183cm with long arms... :-)What's a "bar spin"?

i want to see the rest of the first photo!
The one with the lady - I have a cinelli stem so I've seen enough of that.

it's difficult to be able to judge whether your set-up is going to be okay - you'll need to measure your top tube as Jonny said. Then add your stem length and the length of the bar chop. In reality, it's about the angle that this length leaves you at when riding and whether that is comfortable for you, whether it's the position you wanted to be riding at. You can get back and wrist pain pretty quickly if it's wrong but you may just find it doesn't make for particularly efficient riding (ie your energy and effort..)
You can always try it out....?

when riding, holding the tops of the bars, the bars should obscure the view of the front hub=correct stem length

Based on this I would say that it may be too long a reach and on long journeys you will be over extending your shoulder/trapeze muscles. Resulting in shoulder and neck ache

I was thinking the same.
Maybe I'll try to find a 100mm of the same stem. The stoopid thing is that the tube on the Motobecane fork is 22 mm inside and the stem is 22,2. I have to sand it down for testing.
Anyone want to buy a 130mm hot Cinelli stem?

I'm 198cm with a 61cm frame and a 12cm stem is too long for me by about 2 cm. And i have relativey long arms and torso.

Fit is nothin'- looks are everything. 110mm looks good on any bike.
I have this Cinelli stem.
It's 13cm. Will that be a bit to long on a fixie?
