Can you hold off.
Firstly if the T-shirt size and quality isn't up to your liking then I can replace it for you.
Secondly, I still have lots of spares thanks to those who ordered but haven't paid, and so you putting them on spreadshirt would mean that I get lumbered with a pile of shirts that would represent the entire profit (all costs have been covered, but the unsold shirts represent the profit that will be generating money for the forum).
Thirdly, if you put it on spreadshirt then the entire point of creating the shirts to raise money would have been avoided as none of the money would be flowing back into the forum in any way, as well as that second point meaning that the profit to pay for the forum wouldn't have been made.
So... please don't. And when I've sold the majority of the leftovers over the coming few weeks then only then if the designers agree will the designs go onto something like Spreadshirt. I promised everyone that we wouldn't do a second run, and you have larger issues with copyright if you start to sell them commercially as we didn't clear the designs for the airfix or CBGB one's with the copyright holders.

Whats the big deal about offering to help? I said "We can set the pricing and put the cash back in to the forum." The idea is that people - ie other people - get choice and convenience, at NO PROFIT to me, but PROFIT to you and your forum. It would be an ongoing revenue stream FOR YOU AND THE FORUM. Maybe you don't understand spreadshirt, as you can add a level of profit on to the basic costs of printing the tshirts - about 17 quid - and that profit is yours. I don't know how to explain "put the cash back in the forum" any clearer. I'd not infringing on copyright as I'd only ever do it if you and the designers agreed to it. As I said, I'm offering to help. Just help. Lighten up, I'm not trying to take anything away from you.
Just an idea and an offer. If you hate offers and ideas, then fair enough no big deal.

Don't take it personally.
I'm just saying:
1) If there is something wrong with the shirt you have, then my idea of customer service isn't just to hang you out high and dry but to put it right.
2) The shirts I've sold have covered costs but not made profit... if they all sell they will make a big bit of profit but right now having lots of shirts here means that unless you're going to offset all of the costs yet to be paid and all of the profit that you'll be competing with everything we've done and it won't help anyone at all except a large American corporation.
3) That if a spreadshirt account is to be setup then it probably isn't for you to do as you don't own the designs or have permission yet to reproduce them, and the whole community effort was about raising money through something that people wanted to do. The idea you have is good but don't be too hasty.
4) The designs, well even their creators don't own the rights. Making it permanently available perhaps isn't the wisest choice when we have most definitely infringed upon the copyright of some major companies. Which is why we are doing limited runs and were not intending to re-print. Do you want to be liable once the cease and desist and damages start coming through?
Sure there would be some money, but it wasn't a 100% profit game so that doesn't make the rest of it OK. So yes I welcome that thought and the idea, but unless you can solve the problem with copyright, what to do with the profits we haven't yet made (T-shirts sitting on my floor) and getting permission from designers, then right now it is a premature idea. Wait a little, it's for the best.
And... don't take it personally.

Ok, no worries.
So can I return my shirt then can get an extra large?
Edit - Having read this thread I've realised I've gone way out of line. Sorry VB - and thanks for your efforts.

I do think you're quick to assume the worst / look for the negatives when people make suggestions though, and this is suppossed to be an forum ie a place to discuss.
. . . .
If you're not careful, your 'policing' / agree with me or leave / approach with dry this place up.
Fuck me jonhings - you are way off the mark here !!

You might take a leaf out the the book of the guy who runs velospace.
Velospace is weak, it goes wrong all the time, images break, the layout is bad, information is badly organised, the only good thing about it is it's about bikes.

yeah it's pretty crap really.
it's just pictures of people's bikes, which i don't find as interesting as riding my own bikes.

I wouldn't be that happy with my WAC design going on to spreadshirt.
This is my own little project that I am more than happy to share with the other slightly warped minds on this forum and have provided stickers and permission to use it on the t shirt. I do not, however, plan to let this be used carte blanche.
VB was aware of this when I supplied him the artwork for the T's
No policing on his part, just respecting my wishes…
cheers.

if this forum was short of money and the core members (those that post frequently) found out it wouldn't be short of cash for very long.

I'm not sure if I've ever been a 'core member' of anything before. Should I have a name badge, or induction pack or something?
-

I will wear my shirt with pride when it comes. Even if the print comes off and if its too small so I look like a german sausage... hmm maybe not
-
• #18
don't you have a library card? that makes you a 'member' :snigger:
-
• #19
I've got 5 library cards. Should I be starting a thread about this, and also checking where people store them all?

You didn't get your welcome pack?! I'll be having stern words with Jenny about this. That's the fourth induction she's screwed up this month! She's a lovely lass but sometimes I think she spends to much time inhaling nail polish remover.
I will send you your SuperSkid(tm) undies, "I ride fixed and I'm cooler than you" badge and a copy of "What's A Velodrome" magazine first thing tomorrow.

Oh yes :)
Hi - I got my airfix T the other day and the design is wicked, but the t-shirt is too small (large is usually fine, but this is skin tight) and after 1 wash the transfer is peeling.
I'm just making an offer that I can get these done through spread-shirt in all sizes and colours on American Apparel (normal sizing), and after you order online they'll be delivered in about 4 days. Totally hassle free. You could order however many you wanted and keep ordering if you want? We can upload all the designs. We can set the pricing and put the cash back in to the forum. I'll set it all up, all I'd need is the artwork to upload - or the designer can do that I'm not bothered.
I just want an airfix t (or 5!) that fits me proper-like
Anyone up for it?
