No idea what 'posting' is? But stand up in your pedals a little so the bumps get absorbed by your legs not your ass!!

Post the link, maybe he is just talking about un-weighting?

"On any road bike, the rider must learn to un-weight the saddle to ride over bumps. Most cyclists coast to do this. A fixed-gear rider will learn to "post" over bumps without breaking stride."
http://www.sheldonbrown.com/fixed.htmlIt just means you stand up with your arse off the saddle but continue to pedal.

i was very bored. i still am, infact, so bored, i went through all the old train ticket in my bag, and realised how much i have spent on them, the are four figures....
Hullo!
Just bought myself the sweet Charge Plug as my first otw fixie. (I hope I don't end up killing myself.) The thinking being I'd get used to riding fixed before embarking on a build.
So I was reading Sheldon Brown's site and he talks about "posting" over bumps while not breaking the rhythm of pedaling. Can anyone shed some light on what that means?
Cheers!
