it's their street "track" bike check out fixedgeargallery.com try their search for marque function it will bring up a few capo's maybe peruse velospace.org that will probably have afew on and comments i think either cycle surgery or evans carry these from my experience of cannondales i would think it'll be pretty decent.

Evans in the cut hav one of last years in matt Black at a discount, look much better than this years colurway, and is mechanically the same i think - they also have a Fuji Trak Pro, which is a much better bit of kit IMO, and has some nice bits on it a stock

i saw them in evans £150 off :)
only thing is the geometry looks a bit lackadaisical from the amount of spacing behind rear wheel and seat tube
anyone ridden one?

Mass produced and overpriced - try to get the old ones, like the Major Taylor (grey with stickers in red and yellow), or the earlier models, which are alloy and have steel forks.
The Major Taylor used to cost £1000 and was a proper track bike, ready to race, full Dura-Ace.
The Capo is similar to the Langster and does the same, only costs nearly twice as much.

I've been happy with mine, but then again I'm more into mountain bikes so my opinion is that of a noob, fixed-wise. The £800 original price seemed like a rip-off but at £500-odd in the sale I thought it was worth a punt -- stripped off all the original parts for starters. I rode it for a couple of weeks with the stock components and it felt pretty dead considering it's meant to be a decent track frame with a carbon fork to boot. Anyway got about £100 for the parts on ebay and made the following upgrades: converted to a fixed. wheels = openpro's with condor uno hubs. quite reasonable at £170 from condor; andel unbranded cranks from BLB for 60 quid + bb; nitto bullhorns and ui-5gx stem; ultegra front-caliper and paul e-lever; nice ritchey carbon post off ebay. Ran out of cash on the tyres so i'm gonna have to grind the stock maxxis into the ground before upgrading there lol! With these upgrades the frame opened right up and it feels like a nimble and seriously quick little commuter bike. Whether it was worth the £900 total I've sunk into it i'm not sure. you guys are the experts.....

umatic, the capo isn't a proper track bike, it's basically designed for the road instead of the velodomes, so it won't be as zippy as a track bike.
bike like the Bianchi Pista, Fuji Track, etc. are pure track bike, but not as comfortable to use on the road as the Capo.
I'm not entirely sure if it really worth it thought seeing you're loving the bike, I says probably is, but methinks you should've done a bit more research on it before getting it seeing how much you've spend on upgrade alone (especially with the expensive compound).
you could've save like, £300-500 alone if you decided to built the bike from frame, than buying a complete OTP, and almost replacing every single compound quite quickly.

I've had one for about a year now & we have got on really well. I don't have much to compare it to other than my misses bike which is steel, but I really like the responsiveness of it and the way it is very efficient with the power transfer through lack of flex and at the same time I wouldn't say that the ride was too harsh on the potholed streets of London. If you can get a frame & fork for £250 to you will have done well. The finish despite what Roberto said about being mass produced is done by hand producing smoothed out neat welds. The geometry is quite attractive too.
Here's what I did to mine.... It's been thrown down steps, hit by a car & ridden by me & it's still true and undented, so it is pretty tough. I'd recomend it (frame only) All the stock Capo parts are destined for the bin. (so are the pink tires, which I wouldn't recomend to anyone)

I don't know how close you like your shave, but I only have about 5mm clearance which is close enough for me.
Also, there is bar spin clearance up front if you're brave enough to ditch the brake:p

Man, I should check the date before pulling the quote reply trigger. I'm sure comments on threads should have quote buy dates. This indeed is a resurection

i dunno, i think pink and grey works pretty nicely

be careful, you could have a nasty accident with a slack chain thought, plus it wear out the compound more, you should invest in some chain tugs to make it easier to get the right tightness (not too tight or too loose, just loose enough to let it spin smoothly but not enough to make it bind).

Looks ;like you may have to remove a chain link cause you're pretty far back in your dropouts as it is

It's more a case of one long skid can wear the nylon compound out in as many seconds.

OK, what's a compound? ;p

rofl, buy'n'strip, then put more crap on for £900!!
tried the search, no info.
anyone know what this bike is like?
only interested in frame/fork really, as components will be replaced.
deciding between this and a bianchi pista
looking to build a premium spec bike to use as a replacement for giant tcr.
