Wanted: Steel 1" threaded forks 700c

  • Anybody have any they are looking to get rid of? I'm not bothered about colour. What I am looking for is something without a hugh amount of rake and drilled. It's for a shitty conversion, but the original forks had a problem with the Crown Race and it would cost me more to fix that than but some cheap steel ones. Steerer tube must be 180mm +

    xx

  • Jon this isn't helping with your post but what happened to that saddle we were talking about? You still thinking about a sale? I'm still up for having it.....

  • Yes, still got it... how much did I say?

  • I think I have some forks fitting that description laying around. I'll check tonight.

  • @Jon - oh wicked man... you up for east drinks tonight or something where we could meet? I'll try and dig out a pm with the price mentioned..

  • found the thread - £20 was the figure mentioned..

  • theres a chrome one on ebay

  • if jon doesnt want the the forks that are offered, can i put my name down for second choice please, thanks.

  • I a set from here a couple of weeks ago, they've just dispatched it as it's now in stock. So I'd grab one while you can - only £15, free P+P too.

Currently at Royal Mail holding office at the mo, I'll take a photo when I get them tomorrow morning as the one on the site is pretty small.

  • Mike, when you get chance can u grab a pic of those forks u have? That would be great, how much do u want for them?

@Pifko - those forks look great, let me know when u get them.

  • Anyone? Just bumping it up

  • these will be Pifko's forks (I got a larger pic from the suppliers website)

  • What's that little metal bit on the right fork?

  • attaching the slave leash ?

  • I have some brand new Bianchi forks fitting above description £10.

Im not on the forum much at the mo so best email me if anyone interested. They're green btw.

  • if you dont want them jon can i have them?

  • Any news on whether those forks were any good?? And what is that little thing sticking out?

  • for attaching your gas powered latern for nocturnal jollies / omnibuses !

  • Well, I just received them and they're totally clean and look pretty damn good for £15 TBH. Loads of thread so, will pretty much fit any size headtube out of the box I think.

My ONLY issue with them is that I've found the drilled hole for my brake calliper a bit smaller than the one on my old (now bent to shit for a car) raleigh forks, therefore I cannot fit the nut for it into there.

I'm not sorry for the pic quality, I can't be arsed with digital cameras or wanky flashy camera phones.

    My options are either:
1 - Go at it with a round file (which I have in my possession)
2 - Get my LBS to drill the hole slightly larger in diameter (while they chop a bit of the top off anyway)

Either way, I'm going to have to ride a 14 speed without a front brake tomorrow. Luckily there are no descents on my commute.

I had to chase the order a couple of times, but I was fine waiting TBH, I know they're not CRS or Wiggle, just wanna give the little guys some custom. In fact it's strange how the bigger places don't always sell what you want (even though CRS seems to have everything), yet the little businesses can sort the odd bit out for you no problem.
