If you're really desperate to save even more money: hammer the wheel true.
That's what I used to do when I was a kid...

Do you know if they are any good?
Are cheap wheels a false economy?

My friend bought one for his girlfriends bike as a quick replacement.
I have to say, there a bit wide. More appropriate for a hybrid.
They look a bit crap on a racer bike.
But in terms of quality, basic cheap wheels are fine.
I run a 27" malliard fixed wheel thats probably worse quality, and its at least 20 years old. probably more like 30.
But front wheels are everywhere, and shop/car boot with old bikes will have front wheels a plenty. You could probably pickup a fancy retro campagnolo or something.
And ebays full of new fancy 20 spoke ones for practically nothing aswell.

if you pop down an old-school lbs you should be able to pick up a cheap front for £20 or so... i ran on one for a while, did the job ... otherwise ^^^ wot he says

hubs are hubs, as spokes are spokes, but rims you need to concentrate on.
Off the shelf or handbuilt?
Need to keep costs down and current front is super wonky.
