What gears?

Sorry to be Off-Forum, but

Can any knowledgeable person tell me what width ratio of gears Nuovo Record derailleurs will cope with? And, 6 speed only or can I get 7? Does it depend on which year it is?

To the best of my recollection, I imagine it would cope with as small as a 12 cog, possibly even 11. On the other end of the scale, I don't think I ever had any cog much larger than a 24 on a short-cage mech like that

Thanks Platini. Yep, I'll be asking Nigel at campyoldy about all this, as it'll be him supplying the freewheel. He's on his hols so I thought I'd see if anyone here could gimme some low-down.

Not heard of seven, although I'm sure it exists. I had 1 on a six cog cassette and all worked fine.
