Putney Cycles are recommended by some friends. I can't say about costs though!?
Also Swim Bike Run (aka Bonthrone bikes. Fulham Rd nr. Putney bridge end) They sell some proper bling bikes in there - don't worry though, the mechanic still knows exactly what he is doing. -

Further west there's Action Bikes in Sheen (upper richmond road) they're my LBS and have never done me wrong

+1 for Putney Cycles, they won't take the piss.

The Bicycle Workshop, off Westbourne Grove. Head mechanic, if still there, was an Italian lady. No job too big or too small.

AVOID the bike shop across the corner of Lillie Road and North End Road. Rip off merchants.

Mend a bike off Munster Road in the railway arches, every thing a LBS should be, and you can usually turn up and leave your bike there without booking ahead, they rebuilt my langster after powdercoating for 25 quid so cant imagine a service be much more

SBR very good too, but from past experiance have a week to 10 day wait for workshop bookings

+1 for Bicycle Workshop on All Saints Road. They were always helpful when I lived over there. I dunno if the still do so, but they used to do a first-come-first-served bike clinic on Saturday mornings.

however, i just checked with the chief mechanic. we should be able to squeeze her in particularly if she's a rather new model in good condition, no old hacks though.
