theres really little point of getting "original" ones.
The OS BMX scene is huge, and any leftover consumables like tyres & grips often go for big monies.
By the way, by original do you mean the long flat mushroom grips, which I think were first made by hoffman.
Or do you mean them proper oldschool ones, which are kind of narrow, and oval shape (bulging in the middle)
The first kind can be found still, still being made, originals still out there and affordablish on ebay and such. A brand called prolite sold by cyclesportuk do good versions of these. VEry nice and with free allow bar ends, multiple colours.
The second type, is also findable on ebay and such. Rather cheaply in fact, but in my opinion completley shit.
Ill actually go find you a set to buy if you really cant find any.

yeah the first two definitley aren't the ones I'm trying to get hold of, they're awful.
The last ones may just be photographing nicely, not sure, but still fairly certain they're bagged in with in the others.
I was rather young so memory may be playing tricks, but they were gorgeous to look at and to hold and the grip strangely enough seemed to have the texture of the underside of a mushroom.

be careful with the ODI grips, I have that on my bike, it doesn't stick on the handlebar well as I can able to move it a bit, if you're getting that, make sure you use some zip tie.

thanks Steves, it's a starting point
okay so for those of you old enough to be bmxing in the early/mid 80s there used to be gorgeously soft mushroom grips. I wondered if anyone new where I could source any NOS - preferably white? I'd like to point out that the "old school mushroom grips" that come up on ebay usually are not the original ones, the first ones were a thing of grace and beauty.
