  • What's the best way to do it.

There's no way the bike will ever need a brake and I'm going to be getting it powder coated anyway so it makes sense to me to have the hole filled before that.

    Help and advice is appreciated?

  • maybee aryldite??
    then sand down?

  • that metal fix stuff, like araldite, but to fix metal

  • body filler from a car shop. Get the fine stuff as it is only a small hole fill so a that it sticks out proud and sand down.

  • there ya go

  • That bloke off the 'My car is my lover' program last night could help with this problem.

  • haha

  • Ross at BC sorted a mate of mine's drilled fork out before powdercoating, an excellent job... ask him! But don't moan on here if you don't like the answer Emily! ;)

  • I'm not speak to that cunt :]

  • I know just the stuff for this (have used it for all sorts in the past, including fixing a door after we were broken in to! Plus various motorbike repairs.). Use Chemical Metal, it's a really strong 2-part filler that once hardened can be drilled, tapped, all sorts. Linky:

  • You guys are awesome.

  • you listen to her and not me earlier, bah!!

  • I was thanking all of you.

  • depends if you really want it to stay like it is. Eventually filler will fall out of a hole. If it were me, and I was really going to make it stay put, I would look at brazing something inside the hole, or alternatively taking a threaded spindle and locking it in with both bolts on the inside of the fork. Then you can fill the gap between threads and hole with filler.

  • The threaded spindle idea makes sense. I'll see what I can come up with then add the filler/fake metal around that.

  • fake metal stuff, will never, ever budge! or get it brazed, then re-powdered black so i can throw my toe-clips in at the same time ;)

  • dogs how do you cope with women who don't have, how should I put it, uniform hair colour over their entire body? Do you send them back to the salon for full co-ordination?

  • like gingers? vomit!

you mean like if their cuffs dont match the collar?

  • that does not answer the question.

  • curtains don't match the carpet?!

  • you mean like if their cuffs dont match the collar?

Thats the phrase. I did not want to be cras but could not remember the phrase so made up my own poor one..

  • Airplane blond..............

  • Fuck, my previous reply disappeared. If you want to powdercoat the frame then any filler must be electrically conductive and able to withstand the temperature of the powder coat oven. You therefore need a special filler which the powder coat place should be able to advise about or use metal of some kind.

  • I'd thought of that. Cheers for the headsup though.
I've spoken to my favourite hackney coaters and they're happy with the metal stuff that I've purchased.
