have you stressed the wheel, pushed on the edges of the rim with the hub on the floor?

Hmm..
So it's true, but the tensions are shot?
Did you bring them all up to tension evenly?
Assuming its your first set of wheels, what guide did you follow? -

I used sheldons, yer I tightened down to the end of the tread and then a turn at a time worked my way round on all of them.

Seems a bit weird to me, can't think of a logical reason why this is happening. I assume that all the loose spokes are next to each other, and not distributed around the rim? New parts? Double-checked crossings and patterns?
When I was taught to build wheels they got us to put an extra half turn on all the inside-flange spokes, but don't think it actually makes much difference.
I'd try backing out and starting again, shake out the gremlins.

are you sure you are laced correctly? If you have some tight spokes and some loose ones.. you could be a spoke hole out..

Hey was hoping someone might be able to help, basically I have been trying to build some wheels, the fronts gone ok but the rear one has some really tight
spokes and some quite loose ones. I've checked though their all the same size. Is it possible that my rim could be a bit oval, and if so how do i fix it? thanks
