My GF's bike has an old 27inch wheel in the rear with an old worn mailard 5-speed freewheel - it skips badly and puts her off riding. I want to replace the freewheel but I've never dealt with helichromatic before and presume they aren't readily/cheaply available and that I'd need new tools?
I'm thinking that it might just be easier to buy a cheapo new 27 inch wheel with standard cheapo freewheel no? Does that sound like the best bet?
Got a few old but good condition freewheels, PM me if your interested
your chain maybe stretched to, but buying a cheapo wheel would solve your problems.

Oh the gumwalls arrived for the scissor, put them on but I think they look a bit shit. Not sure. We will see
if you want to go back to the black i'll buy the gumwalls off you.
I stripped my fork this week - the bike looks much better without the orange and it took less than an hour.

@XH your commuter looks sweet as. what happen to scoblefying the scissor?
I decided that I should build a whole new bike instead. that makes sense right?

Bars are from France trip, may remove levers and retape not sure.
Should be a great ride, really loved riding this and thought these wheels were spot on for it.
Big fan of the Record cranks and not so much nomiums so think I'll just keep em.
Haters gona hate.
@Loins, Pistoffski beat you to it.
Now to sell the Raleigh.

James doesn't need them.
They'd just sit around gathering dust along with all his other crap...Wouldn't they look great on my GT?!

Frame bought up of here, thanks to Ghah....built up as a commuter (with cheap wheels) but it was so nice to ride thought I'd put my best wheels on it....thinking it may stay that way!

I'm hoping to hang onto these wheels to be honest.
@AngelD - I have a need of a fixed bike for long/fast rides... I think the Condor set up with these wheels will be better for that. The Raleigh is too nice/bright to leave anywhere, so I don't really have a use for it. When I finally take hold of spotter's Orlowski (which he has been very patient hanging onto for me) I'll have that as an everyday bike and with it being steel I won't be so worried about someone dinging it locking up (the DT on the Raleigh is tin can thin)...
Let's just say I've been deep in thought!
I do - I'll bring it.
