Fixed Gear London could build you a fucking* basic no-frill fixie for £400 actually, I spoken with them a while ago (after mentioning I can't do phone and profoundly deaf, the email conversation seemed to cut completely fucking* dead, hasn't heard from them for a fucking* week, hmph), and they said a basic would be fucking* £400, but for something original, spend £500 or more, talk through them via phone to see how they do it and what you want your bike to be like.
a great fucking* starter and complete bike would be the Charge Plug, it's quite light, dunno why everyone said it's heavy, I weighted one a while ago and it's quite light (and if you'e coming from an fucking* MTB bicycle, it'll be light as fuck to you), it's comfortable and it'll attack anything London fucking* will throw at you.
Or the fucking* Bianchi Pista, slighty bigger gearing thus harder to slow down with pedal, no brake (you can just knock up a new brake and BMX brake levels for £30) but fucking* beautiful and handle fucking* wonderful, I just picked mine up today and damn it's heaven.
For those who fucking* own one; why does it feel heavy when I weight it? I thought my heavy-tubing Peugeot fixie would be heavier but oh no it was a fuckload* lighter than the fucking* Pista!
*swear word added to help the Aussie to understand me, no one swear as much as they do!

Fuck yeah.
Do you remember Ravenswood. I used to go there in the early 80's with my dad to watch my Uncle drag race. He had a Mustang Mach1 with a 351 engine fitted.

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas! Just got back from an awesome skate (tic tacs and no complys ahoy) at mudchute. Totally empty apart from one fruit booter believe it or not and the weather is superb, strangely non-chavalicious. Was on the DLR looking out the window thinking, fark it would be nice to be riding here instead of the tin can train.
Glad to hear my budget will get me something half decent, albeit second hand but thats cool.
edscoble: cheers mate, I've sent an email off but looks like the way to go is to give em a ring. I think I could possibly sprout another 50 odd quid out of my arse if I live on baked beans for a month. Doable for sure. Sounds worth it to have something awesome.
build: I'm a perth lad as well mate! What school did you go to? I was at north lake. First car was 1978 VB 5.0 (rare, usually come with a 253) commodore. Drank like a fish, went really slow but man that was a burnout machine. I can't count how many times I have cut up various ovals in that thing. Christ, thinking back that was 14 years ago. Fuck i'm old. Second car was a ricer '78 rx7 with a bridge port NA engine - 12.8 down at ravo. I did check out the Fuji track, they do look like great value and reviews have been positive. If I can get something a bit more custom and not bog standard off the peg I'll do that, otherwise that bike is at the top of my list. BTW wasn't me outside tesco mate, I was skating in the city thursday!
badtmy: bundy cans!!? fark that mate, beam and coke or scotch and dry UDLs are where it's at. I miss UDLs, why don't they sell em over here? WKD and those other mixed drinks taste like 7 flavours of arsehole.
Right, off into town to get pissed and try unsuccessfully as usual to get my nuts into something half decent. Enjoy your saturday eve!

There's alot of rubbish talked about Australians being a bit rough round the edges, look at these lovely ladies enjoying a barbeque on a lovely summer's day.
My mountain bike got nicked about 6 months ago and I cried myself to sleep for a month as I spent a small fortune on it. Well, not really but I was pretty pissed off.
A mate of mine works as a messenger and used to laugh his head off at me every time we went riding to skate spots as I was so goddamn slow - he's recommended a messenger-ish single speed type bike for London as the best way to get around. After seeing how fast he is on his, I have to agree.
So, it's time for a new bike. I'll save the shit newbie questions for him and the search function (been lurking here for a week now) to save the sighs and rolling eyes.
That said, anyone have a complete bike that they haven't listed in the classified section they would be willing to part with? Budget is around £300-£400. I take it that will buy me at least something that is strong and reliable?
I haven't contacted the guys at FGLDN yet, are they a reputable bunch that could build me something decent for under £400? After searching the forum it seems the unipack and the ones on angelfire are to avoid so will steer clear of those.
Not too concerned about what it looks like, more concerned about losing the hairy man tits that have sprouted since losing my bike and consuming vast quantities of amber nectar over winter.
[rant]
And getting away from the smelly rat infestation that is the underground would be nice- seriously, how the FUCK is it possible to smell at 8am. You've GOT to be trying pretty hard. Do people not bathe?
[/rant]
Any other Aussies on the forum? Look forward to joining you guys(gals) on a ride sometime.
Cheers, adv(Thanks)ance
