fair weather cyclists getting in my way causing problems. Thats what they are

That was a joke by the way.
No it is great to see so many cyclists. Was in Amsterdam the other day and cyclists really do rule the roads there and the drivers have to lump it. Though with the increased popularity of cycling there is an increase of people who dont know what they are doing causing problems. I see people who are literally at war with their bike. Flailing around all over the place. Makes me smile -

It's the same every summer.
The roads will empty again as soon as the rains come back or the temp drops.. -

yes, but it's increasing. there'll be more riders this summer than there ever has been in London.

I actually looked at the price of petrol for the first time in years last week and couldn't believe it!
If I wasn't riding a bike already I'd definitely start. -

You are forgetting the time before motorcar dominance when everyone cycled.
The numbers at the moment might be the highest in 10 years or whatever but they are nothing like pre-motoring times. You think you slags were the first to do no handed skids? :P
back in london for visitation the other day after two years in auckland. mooching round east london and golly there seem to be so many people commuting by bikes and everyone riding like people possessed. so well done you lot, you put auckland to shame. must be fun riding home with heaps of people to say hi to/ race/ abuse. is this biking popularity a new thing?
