We all know how you love the ascent. anyone who's seen me on a bike knows that's a long way from the truth, me being a naturally gifted descender and all that…

Dam that was fast.
I'm looking for something similar to the SF scene, IE lots of rides, races, and just plan old debauchery. I'm a road rider as well as a fixed rider, but I think I will ship over my Track Pro before the road bike.I'm currently working in Malta as a archaeologist, but this island is making me crazy so I'm leaving for better horizons.
Oh and Dicki that offer sounds good, I will get in touch with you. -

I used to live on Kingswood Rd, just behind Brixton Hill, near the prison. Fairly OK area but still no Holland Park. It was also 10mins walk to Clapham
Some matey from Foxtons came round to value it. Described the area as 'Abbeville* Village East'!! WTF!?*For those that don't know Abbeville Rd is a highly sought after, poncey street in Clapham full of bars, estate agents and florists

Im looking for an area that is not to expensive, (but I guess that will be hard) has a younger vibe to it (I'm 24) and somewhat of a bike scene, for those of you familiar with SF, something like the Mission District.
I'm willing to travel, but not to far away from the areas where I can get into trouble.
I'm not quite sure what kind of money I will be making yet, but I should have enough to get started.

i was in the mission district the other week. looking for one of the bike shops that turpe from this forum directed me to (thanks by the way turpe! oh and mrs enjoyed union street). cant remember the name of the shop, but it was like a workshop helping wayward teens or something like that. found the place but the only day i had time to look at some bike goodies...it was shut...do'h!
mission is prob a bit east end.
lots of cool areas in SF. some crazy steep hills for hillclimb practice. a very picturesque city. city centre and the loin side's a bit sketchy tho...but friendly folks everywhere. accent's just a little bit hard to understand sometimes
What up every body.
I'm moving to London at the end of June to start work. I am a member of SFFixed, and have found a lot of good people on there, so I thought I would do the same on here. If you have any advice on places to live, or a place for me to crash for a few days while I look that would be sweet.
Thanks
Blake
